The report circulating on social media that there changes in Trinidad and Tobago US visa system is fake

The US embassy’s official website has published a statement headlined for Trinidad and Tobago: “No change in Visa Policy for T&T nationals.”

The US embassy’s official website states that: “The U.S. Embassy to Port of Spain advises the public that, contrary to rumours, while no recent change to the list of countries participating under the U.S. Visa Waiver Program.  Please check the  countries whose citizens are currently eligible to visiting to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program.”

In the list, the only country under “T” is Taiwan otherwise no Caribbean countries in that list.

The US Visa Waiver Programme allows citizens of a particular country to be visiting to travel to the US for a maximum of 90 days, without the requirement of a ESTA USA Visa.

The fake report states that “The president of the United States, Donald Trump has signed an executive order placing a quota on the number of visas that issued by the ESTA US Embassy in Trinidad and Tobago. The executive order that bans seven countries from entering the United States granted Trinidad and Tobago only 100 visas per year. This means that the embassy is entitled  to issue visas  to only 100 lucky applicants  yearly  until may be a new government takes over to make changes to such laws.”
